Earlier in the week, we purchased tickets to Ballroom With A Twist in Lancaster. The show starred ballroom dancers Valentin Chmerkovskiy and Sharna Burgess, but it also featured several American Idol finalists, ballroom dancers, and So You Think You Can Dance contestants.
I, of course, was ridiculously excited to see the show because of my practically life-long obsession with Dancing with the Stars, which, by the way, I will be a contestant on one day. Now, I just have to become famous for something. Hint, hint this blog. Not only that, but I was already jittering in my seat because of the meet and greet pass in my purse.
Before the show, I posted a picture on Instagram (my account is @lifeinpix102) of my program with the stage in the background. Of course, like all of us do, I tagged Val and Sharna for fun. However, both of them liked my picture during the show, AND Val commented. Honestly, I think I almost had a heart attack. It also didn’t hurt that he made eye contact with me twice during the show. By the end, I was so pleasantly surprised at how the day was turning out. I mean, it was kind of a dream come true or something like that.
It ended after about two hours, and then it was time for my meet and greet with Val and Sharna. I’m not exaggerating when I say that I was shaking and my heart was beating five hundred times per minute. We stood in line backstage to wait to take pictures. It was actually really cool because you could have pictures taken by a professional photographer, take selfies, get autographs, and have a private conversation with the two dancers.
Both Sharna and Val were super sweet, and we talked about my car (it was the lock screen on my phone when Val went to take a selfie), dance, and the art of taking a selfie. Val also didn’t pass up the opportunity to tease me for not dancing with him on stage. Yes, I repeat he remembered me from seeing me in the audience. Plus, I have to mention that I hugged him twice, and both times he kissed my cheek. I would like to mention that even with an injured shoulder, he was an excellent hugger. Again, pretty sure that I almost died. One of our selfies is now the lock screen on my phone, so there’s that.
So, anyway, yesterday was held an amazing experience, and I’m so glad that I got to meet Val and Sharna. Also, I’m glad I could share my experience with you all. Like I said, they were both so sweet, so it was wonderful. This post will have a photo gallery of some of the performance up as well. Which celebs have you met? Let me know if you want to, and happy kommenting :)
