The answers to these questions will slowly be revealed through the new TV show, GOTHAM. In this dark new series, we focus in on green police officer James Gordon as he tries to discover who killed the Waynes. He must fight corruption in the police force and evil outside of it.
One of my favorite things is learning back-stories, and back-stories are basically the point of this new program. Did the penguin always walk that way? Yes. What’s the penguin’s grudge against Gotham? No other than Mr. James Gordon.
I think the show took a risk by introducing a lot of new actors. In fact, I think I’ve only heard of one cast member: Jada Pinkett Smith. Of course, unexpected talent is kind of an awesome thing in new television shows, so maybe the unknown cast will be a good thing.
GOTHAM follows a much darker story-line, which makes sense considering Bruce Wayne’s childhood. After all, he does watch his parents get shot in an alleyway. Following this experience, Wayne becomes troubled, and James Gordon becomes a source of comfort.
Of course, I’m not a Batman expert, but I really appreciate the little nuances that the writers inserted of the well-known Batman storylines. The very first ten minutes of the series showed so many little details of future characters and events. It was really fun to watch honestly.
Whether you are a Batman super fan or you just need a new show to follow, GOTHAM seems like it will be a hit with all audiences. Give it a watch and tell me what you think! Happy kommenting :)
