First is to go out to the movie theatre. In my opinion, there are some interesting looking movies that are out right now, and during my break, I plan to see a couple. Of course, the much anticipated third installment of The Hunger Games trilogy came out last Thursday, and so far, all I’ve heard is good things. You can be sure that you’ll see a review from me in the near future. Beyond the Lights has been out for about a week now, and I’ve wanted to see it since previews began. In case you don’t know what I’m talking about, this film follows the journey of a young girl straight into the spotlight of fame… where she slowly cracks. However, she finds love with a police officer, who convinces her that she is more than the world may think she is.
If you don’t want to go out, Netflix is a wonderful idea to occupy a couple lazy hours. Honestly, we teenagers run around so much during school that it’s okay during break to take some time to chill. With movies like Mean Girls, the other parts of The Hunger Games, and Grease, you can definitely find something that you’d want to spend couch time with. Plus, you can re-watch a favorite series *cough, cough Gossip Girl.*
Sometimes our lives are so hectic, we don’t get to just hang out with the people we love most. Therefore, a lunch date with a friend or family member is a must when things slow down a bit. For people in my area, I’m sure that the newly opened Panera Bread will be the spot for all said lunch dates. Who doesn’t want to chat about life over a delicious salad, Panini, or soup?
With Christmas rapidly approaching, Thanksgiving break is always a wonderful time to buy or make all your presents. I must admit that I’m an ultra-planner, so I like to get things done quickly. I like to make a list of all the people I need presents for and then figure out the best gift for each. Because there’s no school, it’s super easy to run out and get some presents or materials to make presents.
If you’re like me, you’ll also use this break to catch up and get ahead on some homework. Yeah, I know… it’s a lame idea and not fun at all, but you’ll be happy once you’re back in the classroom that you worked ahead. I love the feeling of just being done because it takes so much weight off my shoulders. Procrastinating gives me anxiety, so I almost never do it.
Eat. Eat. Eat. Eat. Not only is Thanksgiving basically a holiday to eat at this point in America, but it is also classified by absolutely wonderful food. Family secrets and favorites are served, and it’s borderline impossible not to eat until almost exploding. Then, there’s leftovers, which we can’t let go to waste, so there’s more and more and more eating going on. Doesn’t sound half bad to me though.
Reading a book is one of the most relaxing things in my opinion. However, it’s important to pick a good one. I would suggest reading any popular series that you haven’t yet like The Hunger Games, The Mortal Instruments, Harry Potter, or Divergent. Really, any book that I’ve reviewed is a good pick, so just head to my “Books” section to find a book to appeal to you.
I hope these tips will help you combat boredom during next week, and of course, happy kommenting :)
