Though it may not seem like it on dreary rainy mornings or tired sunny ones, there are a ton of ways to keep looking new and different for school. Yes, it does take a bit of effort, which I know we all don’t want to put in sometimes, but who doesn’t feel better when looking your best?
Tip 1: Try something new with your make-up. No, no, no I’m not telling you to put on bright pink eye-shadow or green eye-liner. Still, it’s always fun to try a new color pallet. Do you usually use browns? Maybe take a day to use purples… but make sure to coordinate your outfit to this choice. Also, I know some people with blue or green eyes struggle to find pigments that make their eye-colors. In that case, try something a little glitter… we all know it’s my favorite.
Tip 2: Combine different pieces. We all have our favorite outfits that we always put together. This scarf goes with this sweater with these jeans with those earrings and those boots. Despite our girlish need for order in the fashion department, it’s really okay to do some mixing and matching. Pair a scarf with a different sweater and change your choice of pants. All of the sudden, it looks like you got brand new clothes even though you spent no money.
Tip 3: Hair is simply hair. We girls often love our hair a bit too much, so haircuts and colorings can be quite frightening. However, taking a few inches off can make you look different, which might help if you feel like you’re in a style slump. Coloring is a bit trickier, but sometimes it’s worth it. For instance, I started highlighting my hair in sixth grade, but by the time I got into tenth grade, the blondeness was not working for me anymore. So, during Christmas break, I went back to my natural dark hair. All of the sudden, all my outfits looked new, and my look was instantly renewed.
Tip 4: Shoes, shoes, shoes. A different shoe can make a huge difference. There are boots, flats, heels, and other styles that can make an outfit look completely unique. There are infinite combinations you can make with sweaters that will jazz up what you’re wearing. Wearing UGGs instead of flats can be totally transforming. Plus, adding a cheap new pair of shoes to your collection can really lighten up your fashion life.
Tip 5: Wear something you normally wouldn’t. I’m not talking about some crazy fishnets or 80’s-style leg warmers, though. I’m just talking about a different style of sweater, another cut of jeans, or a vibrant bracelet. Choose a different defining feature of your outfit like making your pants a vibrant color or picking a huge necklace. Style doesn’t really have many rules expect be yourself and respect yourself, so you don’t have to worry about breaking commandments. All you have to do is make yourself happy and confident.
Maybe these tips can help you if you’re having an outfit obstacle one morning! As always, feel free to add your own tips to my post by adding a komment. Happy kommenting :)
