Since the days of the Camp Rock series and the TV show Jonas, Nick Jonas has made a career for himself in the arts. With Broadway performances in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying and an appearance on the hit TV show SMASH, Nick is no longer just a third of an old boy band.
With two singles on the market now, Jonas seems to be teasing us with the sounds of his wonderful voice. His songs entitled “Jealous” and “Chains” are the first solo songs we’ve heard from him since the days of Nick Jonas & The Administration 4 years ago.
I think that his new music is fun and feel-good, and of course, he’s absolutely adorable (and has been since the first Camp Rock movie). He is most definitely a pop singer, and the days of the off-beat tone of songs like “Who I Am” are sadly gone. Yet, his new sound is a different kind of a wonderful, in my opinion.
His new music video for “Jealous” features his gorgeous girlfriend, Olivia Culpa, which is super sweet. However, and I say this with love Nick, the video is beyond weird. I don’t know how you can possibly shove a grandma playing a cloud piano, awkward fake motorcycle scenes, and Michael Jackson moves into three minutes and forty-three seconds, but somehow, he did.
Rumors about the ex Jo-Bro’s album have been circulating since the summer, but we still aren’t even able to preorder it on iTunes yet. However, we do know that singer Mike Posner will be featured on the album. I actually saw Posner in concert when he opened up for someone else, and I really enjoy his music. That said, I’m excited to see how he has influenced Jonas’s new tracks.
How excited are you to hear what Nick Jonas has been recording in the studio? Who was your favorite Jonas Brother back in the day? I’ll admit that mine was Kevin, who’s now married with a child. Let me know what you think about the new music by tagging me on Twitter (@KarlysKomments). Happy kommenting :)
