We all know that my favorite color is sparkle, so your blingy jewelry is right up my alley. Sure your dress and shoes are super important, but your look is nothing without a pop of something sparkly here and there.
Some dresses lend themselves to a necklace, but one like mine that has a high neckline won’t work with a blingy necklace. Therefore, you must find other avenues for your glitter. I would suggest earrings and bracelets because they aren’t really affected by your dress. Bangles are a great idea because they make noises, which is fun and cool.
Here’s another idea: make your make-up glittery. Eye shadow that sparkles is cool, I guess, but it’s sort of unoriginal if you think about it. Everyone has that silver or gold dust in their back pocket. This summer though, I saw someone with sparkly mascara, which was one of the best experiences of my fashion life. It added a whole new dimension of sparkle to her eyes and face, and for homecoming, I think it’s perfect. In addition, sparkly eyeliner is an awesome tool as well. I would suggest picking one of these options, though. All three would just be too much even for me.
If you thought I was out of glitter venues, you’re wrong. Did you think I forgot about nails? My first two homecomings, I did do the whole manicure and pedicure thing, but honestly, it’s really expensive. So, for this year, I investigated some other options. Here’s my secret: fake nails for eight dollars at your local drugstore (in my case CVS). The nails take ten minutes maximum to apply, and then you’re done. Also, they’re super inexpensive. There’s a ton of different styles, and many of them include some glitter, which is lovely.
I know I’ve already written about hair, but here’s one last tip regarding that. After you’re all updoed or curled, add some glittery combs or barrettes to give your locks some sparkle.
Can you believe there’s only six days until Susky homecoming? I hope you all have a wonderful time, and share your pictures with me on Twitter so I can feature you in my post-homecoming post! Happy picture-taking, dancing, and of course, kommenting :)
