First, it’s really important to be able to walk in your shoes. Obvious, right? You’d be surprised. If you can’t straighten your legs while walking or stand without wobbling, you need to rethink your priorities. Shrink the heel size if you have to! Talk it from someone who knows, being tall is not that great.
In the same regard, pick comfortable shoes! You don’t want your feet at a 90-degree angle even if you can walk that way. Remember, you have to take pictures and walk around pre-dance in the shoes, so avoid blister-giving and blood flow reducing heels.
Also, make sure your shoes match or compliment your overall look. For instance, don’t wear brown shoes with a black dress because of clashing, but do wear bright red shoes to accent the outfit. Maybe find a pair that has a matching feature to your dress like a bow or a flower.
Don’t be afraid of sparkle. As I always say, sparkle is most definitely a color, and it’s a perfect color for shoes. As you’ll see after the big night, my shoes are basically a glitter fest. Of course, that’s not for everyone or every look, but it’s something to think about.
I would also like to mention that you want to purchase shoes that you can wear again. Shoes can be super expensive, and you don’t want to spend that kind of money for a one and done pair of heels. Of course, homecoming heels aren’t going to be everyday shoes, but they should be wearable to a wedding or some other event.
Now that you’ve read some of my tips for your feet, here are some pictures of my do’s and don’ts. Happy kommenting :)
